We work with writers at any stage of their process. STUDIO R—M offers developmental editing for manuscripts that need structural clarity, thematic coherence, or a sharper sense of what they are trying to accomplish.

We are interested in helping writers see their own work more clearly. Our editorial approach is rooted in close reading and attention to how narratives build—how scenes accumulate meaning, how voice holds or fractures, how structure supports or undermines what a writer intends. We do not impose a singular method. We read what is there and help you understand what it is doing, what it could do, where it falters. We work with writers who want rigorous feedback.

If you have written something and cannot yet see it clearly—if you sense it could be stronger but are uncertain how—we can help you locate what needs attention and what already works.

STUDIO R—M is led by Kristil Rabideau, who holds degrees in literature and communications from Columbia University and universities in Sweden and France. She has worked with writers published in The New York Times, Newsweek, and other outlets, and runs À CLARICE, a newsletter of critical essays on Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector. Her editorial practice draws on years of thinking about how language works—how it fails, how it succeeds, how meaning is constructed and revised.
